By Jennifer McDougall

Valentine’sValentine’s Day is a day that we completely submerge ourselves in the act of self-love, and self-care; if you have a significant other, it’s a fun day to turn up the wick on your romantic life and create lasting memories with your sweetheart. Since we are focusing on taking better care of our mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing, we want to share these helpful ideas of how you can spend this Valentine’sValentine’s Day with a more relaxed state of mind.

  1. Start your day off by taking a long bath or shower, whichever you prefer. Cleansing your body and washing away the day before will help you begin feeling awakened and refreshed. It’s also an excellent opportunity to spend time away from your cell phone and computer, with no distractions, so you can clear your mind and sort through any thoughts that may come to mind.
  2. Take care of your top 3 pending priorities that need to get done so you don’t have to spend the day thinking about them and feel relieved that it’s finally done. Nothing quite like that sense of accomplishment!
  3. Prepare dinner in the morning by using the Crockpot for a cozy meal to enjoy later on. The less time you have to spend cooking and cleaning is a brilliant way to clear time in your busy schedule to enjoy more relaxation.
  4. Decorate the house with colorful flowers and purchase a couple new house plants to help liven up your living space.
  5. Write yourself a love note. When was the last time you wrote yourself expressing how proud you are of what you have accomplished and grown to be all that you do, and the love you share with others to help make the world better? It’sIt’s probably been a while. You might have never done this before, but it is a great way to remind yourself of your strength and courage through the many difficult times you’ve faced and all that you have to be grateful for.
  6. Treat yourself to a nice lunch. Put on a cute outfit and go get some fresh air. You could pick something up from your favorite restaurant or a place you haven’t tried before and then bring it to a local park to listen to the sounds of nature. Maybe even bring a book with you.
  7. Have a spa day. You could stay home and put on one of those face masks you’ve been saving for a special occasion, or book yourself an appointment for a massage and facial.
